Job Seekers....here comes LinkedIn to your rescue

in Social-media

Social Networking site have helped each and every sector of the business since it has helped companies save millions of pounds each year on advertising and marketing their products and services. With the help of social networking sites organisations can reach to their target audience within clicks of a mouse. Let's just look at the example of LinkedIn which is the largest professional networking site which allows organisations to select the top talents available in the job market. LinkedIn unlike other social networking websites is made and developed for professionals. LinkedIn helps young professionals to find profiles of people in similar jobs share their work experience and search available job postings. LinkedIn allows companies to find the most appropriate professionals for job openings. In this recession were jobs are hard to find and companies are implementing strategies to reduce their operating cost social networking website like LinkedIn has come to our rescue. LinkedIn has helped the recruiters by launching LinkedIn Talent Advantage application which continues to help recruiters in finding the most deserving candidate among a sea of applications. This new application has doubled the job postings i.e. more opportunities for the job seekers as well as for the employer because both have equal opportunity to present themselves.

LinkedIn as not just helped organisations find the right candidates for the available job openings it has also helped companies find professional contacts. For example with growing globalisation companies are always in need of a reliable Translation Agency to successfully achieve their organisational objectives and expand globally.

Using online sources like the social networking websites will help companies its valuable time and money because they don't have to spend money on advertising their jobs on TV, newspapers, magazines or paying to a 3rd party Recruitment Company. Companies trying to expand their business in an uncharted territory may need professional translation to extend their reach to non English speaking people. With this new trend more and more companies are using social networking websites to recruit employees rather than using the traditional methods .Jobsite the social recruitment software company suggests that the survey conducted by them show that majority of the employers are using or intend to use social media as a source for recruiting employees.

LinkedIn is the most favourite social networking website used by employers to recruit followed by Facebook and Twitter respectively. Such is the popularity among corporate that the biggest search engine website Google has merged with YouTube which is the world's largest video sharing website. Google spend as much as $1.61 billion to buy YouTube in return expecting their revenues to increase by generating more advertisements. However ethical and social issues concerning social networking websites is inevitable and the prime example of it is YouTube. It uploads mostly homemade videos but it has come under serious criticism by music companies for uploading copyright music content and has several cases running in courts. Google's takeover of YouTube is considered by many has one of the biggest mistake in the business world and it may damage Google's ever popular image in the market. So it clearly tells us that social networking might have helped companies save and make millions of pounds each year but if it is not managed decently can cause serious problems to organisations like Google and others.
