In todays world there are a myriad of career choices which one could choose from, unlike a few decades ago when could choose between being a doctor, a lawyer or an engineer, or at least that’s what everyone was pushed to do. Anything that seemed a tad bit unconventional was looked down and frowned upon. Bursting out of the bubble, which everyone else was trapped in, was impossible. However today we have evolved and matured with time and the number of career options one has is mind-boggling. Things which people dint know existed now have an entire array of job opportunities for example a bartender, imagine what ones parents would have said if their son wanted to become a bartender twenty years ago? Though in today’s world being a bartender is a job, which most people would envy, as it would involve you to travel the world from party to party.

With the endless problems and issues the world is facing today right from child abuse to prostitution, social work is the need of the hour.

Social work includes everything from abuse, addiction, poverty, death, divorce and unemployment. These are all issues, which have scarred a person for life, and the social workers job is to try his or her best to heal such scars. If you wish to be the safety net that helps people to get back on their feet, social work is the thing for you. Though it could be the most frustrating and cumbersome job you can imagine, the feeling of knowing that you made a large positive impact on someone’s life, helped them change for the better and get their life back on track is a reward greater than any sum of money in the world. Social workers in a sense are like real life heroes helping people change for the better. Social work is a great career for anybody who is passionate about helping people and making their lives better in any way possible. .

There are several courses regarding social work, which one could do, some of these courses can be obtained online. In order to become a certified social workers one must have a bachelors, masters or a PhD in the field and also require a certain number of predetermined hours completed in fieldwork, which would help them gain real time experience apart from just theory from the course. Only through acts of social courage can people be rescued from the clutches of issues like substance or child abuse. It is necessary for people to step up and help other such people, facing these problems in order for any social achievements or society achievements to be made.
